Recently one of my favourite writers Walter E Williams died at the age of 84, and had been an economist and a writer for many decades coveringa range of topics such as Race, Economics and Politics in the USA. Even on the day of his death at age 84, he had been teaching a class. He gave everything for teaching, and writing yet barely a glance from most people in the media. So many people mourn celebrities when they die, like most recently Dame Barbara Windsor, which is a sad death but so many people knew her from the TV but it just shows the comparison of who or what is popular and approved in the mainstream and what isn't. It got me thinking about what books that should be read in schools or universities but are avoided. Yet other books are propped up and become bestsellers over night. I will go through different topics and suggest a few books on each topic that are by authors while not completely forgotten, are overlooked.
